I've used Michelin tyres for motox for years, since they released the S12 years ago. They make, imo, the best dirt bike tyres money can buy. I would assume they'll make damn good DH tyres.

I hate new hub noise. Useless.

They added 7 sprockets and an additional chain with zero additional gears. Whoever built this probably spent over 100 hours machining parts and fabricating just to add friction loss and weight. I think they were just trying to make it look cool though, in which case they did a good job.

I feel like there's GOTTA be a ton of added friction here.

For torque? For efficency? For power? For YT shorts?

The realquestion is whats it sound like in a free spin. I remember chris king vcassette hubs that use to sound like they were shifting gears linearly from high to low then repeat, for ever. Would like to know what the pawls on that look like. 😂

The name and implementation is patented, any other manufacturer is free to TiN treat their stanchions as long as they sell it under a different trade name and as their own implementation of the design.

It's just 2 cassettes with a little chain between them. The chain length stays the same as it moves between pairs of cogs. So you have asamy speeds as there is cogs on each of the cassettes. The complex looking chain routing on the outside is to accommodate the MTB rear suspension. Shimano patented this design a couple of uears ago. Enclosed in a case and oil bath of course.

What advantages have this system?

Don't clip in for big jumps like this if you're not ultra confident, and for god sake, learn to throw your bike away. No one should be trying a jump like this if there's even a remote possibility of this outcome. You're facing permanent paralysis.
